Alison Krauss & Union Station to Release New Music—Arcadia

Arcadia LP

I saw Alison Krauss & Union Station play in Bozeman, Montana, back in the year 2000. They recorded their LIVE release in 2002, recorded at the beautiful Louisville Palace. I absolutely love Alison Krauss. She grew up around Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, and was probably around the area when I went to the University of Illinois back in the 1980s. Oh how fate would have been different if I had known what I liked when I was a younger man.

AKUS announced a reunion tour recently, and I was on the verge of buying tickets in Omaha when I realized my cousin is getting married Farther’s Day weekend… back in Champaign, Illinois. Oh well, family comes first. Then the news came that AKUS is releasing their first new album in 14 years—Arcadia—on 28 March 2025. Oh, Happy Day!

The first song on the 10-track disc is titled “Looks Like the End of the Road” and it has been released on streaming services and for digital purchase. The album is produced by AKUS, featuring songs composed by Robert Lee Castelman (a Grand Old Opry regular), Viktor Krauss, Bob Lucas, JD McPherson, and Sarah Siskind. Jeremy Lister wrote the first track. Arcadia will be released by Down the Road Records, who happen to be the same folks who founded Alison’s former label, Rounder Records, who signed her at age 14. Guitarist Russell Moore of IIrd Time Out joins the band, along with Jerry Douglas, Ron Block, and Barry Bales.

Arcadia Track List:
“Looks Like The End Of The Road” (Writer: Jeremy Lister)
