You’ve probably seen at least one of the videos in this “Did You Know?” series. I’ve heard about them, or rather seen blogs written about them, but only now coming out of dial-up purgatory I’m somewhat behind on the entire video thing. Never thought it would catch on. Like an old radio mogul, I figured “We’ve got streaming audio, why would people want pictures?” Duh.
This is another official update to the original “Shift Happens” video. This completely new Fall 2009 version includes facts and stats focusing on the changing media landscape, including convergence and technology, and was developed in partnership with The Economist. So this is the latest, released on the world in September. Interesting statistics, like Wikipedia has 13,000,000 articles in 200 languages. (Do I have to repeat that the science journal Nature found that Wikipedia is at least as accurate as Encyclopedia Britannica?) More annoying music, but that’s why they invented mute—we’ve got moving pictures, we can do without sound.
