That History of Britain documentary

[v=vv-ckMLdRsA]

Several years ago, historian Simon Schama came out with an extended BBC documentary called “A History of Britain”.  I bought the 3 books that went with it, but the 15-episode DVD collection was a bit beyond my budget.  Still is.  Now we have a couple options.

  • The TV shows have found their way onto Youtube (surprise, surprise) in 10-minute segments.  Picture quality is decent, too.
  • A new DVD package came out in August, 6 discs 882 minutes 1.78:1.  Now there’s an A&E version that’s been panned on Amazon for crummy pan-n-scan from the original widescreen panorama. Not sure if this is still that compilation or not, but it looks like a deal.

So, there you go; go get yourself educated this weekend.
